Helios Pin

The Helios Locking Pin Sleeve System was developed to enhance the usability of the “Himawari Method” for comminuted patellar fractures.
The Helios Pin has a diameter of 1.8 mm, and the Helios cable has a diameter of 1.0 mm, achieving a compact design. For key points regarding the use of the Himawari Technique, please refer here.

Helios Cable

Utilizing a proprietary stranding process, the cable is resistant to kinking during the complex routing required in the “Himawari Method.” Furthermore, the cable length has been extended to 800 mm to facilitate multiple anterior fixations.

The needle tip enables direct insertion into soft tissues, such as the patellar retinaculum, and facilitates guidance through bone tunnels. Alternatively, the procedure can also be performed using the EZ Maneuver passer.

The tapered tip facilitates smooth guidance into the sleeve hole. Despite its 1.0 mm diameter, it offers breaking strength comparable to that of a 1.2 mm cable.

The blade of the EZ Cutter II has been designed with reduced thickness to minimize residual cable ends after cutting.
